I am a Brighton resident and already can’t drive around with the phase one implementation of the 20mph scheme, let alone the proposed extension of phase two.
Journey times are ridiculously long at the moment and I feel that by extending the 20mph area, the whole city will come to a standstill.
The council will kill the local economy by doing this as it’s already on average £25 a day to park a car centrally.
Why would people bother to come to Brighton and Hove when they can go to another city, drive freely and not have to get a second mortgage to park their car?
Personally I’d prefer it if the Greens paid more to the binmen for the good job they do instead of wasting taxpayers’ money on this.
