A neglected spot on a busy Brighton road is being turned into a communal garden.
Hanover Housing has brought the diggers in to carry out the work at Patching Lodge on the corner of Eastern Road and Freshfield Road, Brighton.
Delays were caused after concerns were raised about losing a diagonal footpath which pedestrians had used as a cut-through. The new garden will have full accessibility via a new ramp to the pathways, raised beds, numerous benches and a pergola.
