I am now only a visitor to Brighton (I worked here for some years) but while staying with a bike-owning family I was amazed to see the new roundabout at Seven Dials didn’t include a side cycle path. It’s sometimes called a Dutch roundabout.

It’s strange to spend money on cycle lanes to and from this point but not design this into what I would say is a very dangerous piece of road. In Holland this system has been in use since the 1960s. I’m back next summer – maybe it will be modified by then...
