I am the vice-chairman of a local history and social group called Phoenix History and Social Club.
We have been going for the past seven years. In that time we have lost a few members and dearly wish to recruit more.
We have so few members now that we are in danger of closing. We raise sufficient funds through subscriptions to pay our way.
We meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 2pm at St David’s Hall in Whitehawk, Brighton.
We are a small but sociable group whose main interest is local history. We have a speaker at each meeting. We visit local places of interest followed by a convenient venue for lunch.
Our next meeting is on October 9 for two hours.
Anyone is welcome to come along and take a look.
