The Argus has been nominated as daily newspaper of the year in the EDF Energy London and South of England Media Awards.
It is up against the Bournemouth Daily Echo and the Southampton Echo in the fight to claim the prestigious prize.
As well as newspaper of the year, a clutch of Argus staff have also been nominated in a range of categories.
Photographers Simon Dack and Terry Applin will by vying with each other to be named news photographer of the year. You can see some of the photos they submitted at the top of the story.
Bill Gardner has been nominated as newcomer of the year, for his stories Care home call girls, Is it the end for Mr and Mrs and Fireworks family back in business.
Anna Roberts has been nominated as specialist journalist of the year, and Tim Ridgway as columnist of the year, for his columns Will Kitcat melt as heat is turned up, Are u-turns a bad thing? and It’s time to call a political ceasefire.
Features sub-editor Laura Gooch has also been nominated as designer of the year.
