It sounds like a crazy yarn but it is true – an area was decorated with woolly animals.
Storm Gardens, Worthing, was decorated with wool earlier this month, much to the delight of visitors.
Electricity boxes were knitted over and woolly trinkets hung from trees.
Did this story make you chuckle? Here are some more recent quirkies to tickle your fancy:
The practice, known as yarn-bombing, is the work of a charity called Storm – a Christian group that runs youth clubs and children’s clubs among other community projects.
Ginny Cassell, leader of Storm, said: “We just want to cheer the place up. If we had a mission statement it would probably be to make people smile.
“We’re starting to knit Christmas hats and accessories to decorate the penguins in the courtyard at Worthing hospital.
“Hospitals can be quite traumatic places so the idea is to lift people’s spirits – that’s what we want to do.”
