On Sunday, the first SD2 family pop festival entertained families and youngsters, with acts including The Wanted and Connor Maynard.
Steve Jones, festival organiser, said: “It has been brilliant – really, really good.
“I think the atmosphere was brilliant. We opened the tents up, the crowds in there were busy all day and it all ran smoothly.”
The response to the festival has been extremely positive, with hundreds of attendees taking to social media sites to praise the event.
Stuart Woods, 23, of Brampton Road, Eastbourne, said: “I thought it was a brilliant festival, really positive attitude from everyone there, but the public transport they had set up was nowhere near enough.
“Even mid-afternoon arrivals such as myself were packed on to bendy buses like sardines.
“The free shuttle bus to Brighton town after, however, was fantastic.
“DJ Fresh was my personal highlight, stage set-up was awesome, particularly at night with lighting etc.
“I think it’s really important for Brighton to have things like this as it’s always claimed as being youthful and up-and-coming and to earn those titles it needs to host events for our age group – it did that very well.”
