Prostest season returned to the University of Sussex yesterday as hundreds of students took part in a demonstration against the outsourcing of university jobs.
Earlier this year, students led a seven-week sit-in at Bramber Building which cost the university £200,000 in extra security, repairs and legal fees.
A spokesman for the campaign group posted on their Facebook page yesterday: “Today’s demonstration was an amazing show of unity and strength on behalf of the Sussex community, as we fight together for a democratic, public university.
“We continue to reiterate our calls for more democratic participation at all levels of university affairs, and to bring back in-house, or halt, those planned privatisations of catering and estates and facilities management.”
