Trekkers from Lewes Old Grammar School on target to hit £8,000 total (Pic Jim Holden)
More than 400 students put on their walking boots for a charity 13-mile trek.
The pupils from Lewes Old Grammar School took to the South Downs Way, between Lewes and Newhaven.
The annual event raised money for seven different charitable causes, including FISHAID (a charity for research into childhood and adolescent bone cancers), The Leonard Cheshire Orphanage for Disabled Children in Durban and The Sussex Air Ambulance.
Although the final fundraising total is yet to be confirmed, it is expected to be in the region of £8,000.
The school’s headmaster, Robert Blewitt, praised the students’ efforts, adding that they hoped to do the same again next year.
