An artist is calling on residents to help him complete his mission to turn a Brighton neighbourhood into a masterpiece.

Former street cleaner Tristan Bristow, 32, has spent the last six months creating a hyper-realistic image of eleven Brighton streets.

Now the artist wants residents who live in the streets between Queen’s Road and Grand Parade to send in images of themselves so he can complete his work.

Mr Bristow, of Clyde Road in Brighton, said: “I started off as a realistic painter but it was very slow business and it took a lot of time. I began thinking, what do people want? They want something personal.

“When I was a kid, there was a painter who did a painting of the Essex village I lived in and my mum had a copy of it and so I had this idea in the back of my head and thought it would be perfect for Brighton.”

Mr Bristow has lived in the city for seven years, spending four years supplementing his income as an artist by working as a street cleaner.

"He began his project by painstakingly hand drawing the streets. right down to individual shop fronts, estate agents’ signs and broken windows. He then scanned the image into a computer so he could colour it in digitally.
