Dancers and computer geeks have teamed up to create an innovative digital experiment.
The ‘dance hack’ this weekend at the Sallis Benney Theatre in Grand Parade, Brighton was the first time movement artists and programmers have joined force to create a new type of performance.
The event was organised by Elizabeth Mischler, a producer at South East Dance, as part of the Brighton Digital Festival.
Elizabeth asked computing educator Genevieve Smith-Nunes to help to facilitate the project.
She said: “I told her that I didn’t want dictate the outcome of the event. The 24-hour performance involved dancers wearing sensors and computer programmers coming up with new code. This is something we have never seen before.”
