A new boy-band wowed students at Warden Park School yesterday as they played three lunchtime sets at the Cuckfield school.

Manchester teenagers Reconnected performed 20-minute sets for students at the Cuckfield Academy, including their top 40 single One in a Million.

Admission was free, but those attending the gig were encouraged to make a 50p donation to one of four school charities voted for by the students.

The Britain’s Got Talent finalists, Matt, Max and Harry, have been making a big impression since launching as Reconnected.

They have now signed a management deal and are recording their debut album with the internationally acclaimed writer and producer Tim Woodcock, who has worked with Gary Barlow and JLS, and whose songs have sold more than 23 million records.

Paul Perry, director of curriculum and enrichment at Warden Park, said: “We hope that by bringing in Reconnected they will really inspire our students.

“We have a thriving and very successful music department with a lot of rock and indie bands.”

One in a Million was the first release on Dragon’s Den star Duncan Bannatyne’s label Bannatyne Records. The song made it to number 32 in the charts in March. Before then, the band cut its teeth as the official support for X Factor winner Little Mix’s UK tour at the start of the year.
