I just do not understand what planet Brighton and Hove City Council is on, reprimanding David Tamplin for re-painting a faded white no-parking line outside his house (The Argus, September 13).
The council spends thousands on travellers, cleaning up after them, but when Mr Tamplin saves us a bit of money they come down on him like a ton of bricks.
Yes it sounds trivial, but the fact of the matter is he is a resident of this city and the council will hound him for every last penny.
But if he was one of our poor travelling community and had nowhere to go, the council would say, “That’s OK, off you go. You have only cost us thousands, but that’s OK.”
Good luck Mr Tamplin. I don’t mind putting my hand in my pocket to help you out if needed.
Mr A Gumbrill, Chapel Mews, Hove
