Model Nicole Gibson stunned the audience as she took to the catwalk in London – just days before undergoing gender-reassignment surgery in London.

On Thursday Nicole, 32, will head to Charing Cross Hospital in London for surgery.

She will go under the knife and finally physically become the woman she has known she truly is.

Over the past two years Nicole – who has long blonde hair and wears fashionable clothes – has taken hormone replacement.

Her figure is the envy of many women and men regularly chat her up.

She has been living as a woman for a number of years – and is now a successful model with Models of Diversity, an organisation which offers an alternative approach to modelling.

Ahead of London Fashion Week it hosted its own show in the capital – and Nicole impressed on the catwalk.

In November she will return to work at the Ideal Home Show in London.

Describing her modelling, she said: “I love it. It’s brilliant.”

Speaking yesterday, Nicole, from Horsham, said she was “excited and a bit nervous” about her surgery.

“I’ve asked my friends to look after me and feed me Twix bars when I’m recovering,” she joked.

“I’m at the Ideal Home Show in November so I hope I’ve recovered – I’m sure I will have.”

She explained how she underwent rounds of tests ahead of the surgery.

She said: “The doctors, understandably, wanted to make sure I was ready for it.

“It takes so long to be approved but it will be worth it.

“I’ll spend eight days in hospital – I’ll be so bored but at least I can catch up with some novels.”

Nicole, who attended Tanbridge School in Horsham, said that from when she was young she knew she was not the same as most little boys – she loved playing with her sister’s dolls.

As she got older she used to try on her sister’s clothes too.

“We had a long gravel drive and as soon as I heard the car on the driveway I would take them off and put them in the cupboard – it was silly,” she said.

“I knew I was not a gay man though.

“I cringed about chatting men up but I was so, so feminine.

“When we went out in Brighton I was always the designated driver.

“The first time I went out in drag I didn’t wear a crazy wig – I looked more like Jane Asher.”

Since then her fashion sense has come on and she said she knows what suits her shape.

She has a big group of girlfriends and is currently single and focusing on her modelling.

“I want to focus on me – I can’t wait to become the woman I am inside,” she said.
