The Greens of Brighton and Hove have reached a pivotal point.

It is now less than 600 days until the crucial 2015 elections, which will see parliamentary and local elections held on the same day.

In one swift stroke, the progress that the party has made over the last 16 years in gaining an MP and control of a council could be wiped out.

That is unless something changes.

Electability was one of the buzzwords flying around the room at the Green Party conference over the weekend.

This is no wonder given that many people in Brighton and Hove are saying the last two years of Green control will mean they will never vote for the party again.

When asked about the topic on BBC Sussex last week, it was suggested that this was something that had been created in the media.

Well let's be clear: it's not. This has been something the Greens have created.

Yes they have made mistakes but that is inevitable as it's their first stab at running things.

They now have two years to try and pull things round and do some serious damage limitation.

I for one hope that the predicted nuclear wipeout does not come true as politics, and the city as a whole, is a lot better place with Green representation.
