A shopworker was held up at knifepoint.
Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted robbery at Vega Express Convenience Shop in Sackville Road, Hove, on Saturday.
At 8.20pm police received a call from a man who works at the shop who said he had been threatened with a knife.
He said the suspect, described as a white man wearing a dark hooded top with white sleeves entered the shop, and threatened him.
When he refused to hand over any money the suspect left and headed south along Sackville Road.
Detective Constable Steve Amner (COR) said: "Thankfully the worker was not injured and the suspect left without taking anything. We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information.”
