A pitbull-type dog savaged three smaller pooches and their owner.

The incident took place at 10pm on Tuesday in Quarry Hill, St Leonards.

A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: “The dog started attacking the three dogs and then jumped on the woman knocking her to the ground.

“She suffered a graze to her knee and a man sustained a cut to his hand as he tried to get the dog off the woman.

“The animal then ran off up Quarry Hill towards Pevensey Road.

“The white dog was wearing a black studded harness.

“Police want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and the owner of the dog.”
