We really enjoyed Bev Fest on the Bevendean school playing fields on Saturday, September 7.
We especially liked the Bevendean Activities Group fruitcycle stall. This was set up as a social enterprise to raise money so teenagers from the local area can go on outdoor adventure trips. They created a clever contraption – a bicycle with a blender attached to the back so that when you rode the bike you blended your very own healthy and natural smoothie. What a wonderful idea.
However, this was not the only community group born in the Moulsecoomb and Bevendean area – there is also the wonderful Bevy Cooperative pub, created from community shares, the beautiful Bevendean Community Garden and others.
Moulsecoomb and Bevendean have flourishing communities leading the way on community projects.
