The latest figures for jobless in Sussex makes for encouraging reading.

Business leaders are right to hail the success and it appears we are heading in the right direction.

Of course, there must always be a note of caution before mentioning green shoots of recovery.

The figures represent the number coming off jobseekers allowance, which does not necessarily mean they have found suitable employment.

And there are still concerns over youth employment numbers.

But just as encouraging as the figures is the number of businesses saying they are determined not to rest on their laurels but instead use this as a catalyst for further success.
