I just had to write concerning the golliwog saga (Letters, September 4). I think most of us oldies will always love them.
I still have them in my house for my grandchildren.
Go to the Isle of Wight. All the gift shops are selling gollies in different forms: large, small, ornaments, fridge magnets, key rings, salt and pepper shakers, and more.
They told me they never have any trouble selling them.
So, Brightonians, get a life. Stop whinging about unnecessary things and think of more serious things around you – live and let live.
Look around you at the beauty we have – we are very lucky with our lovely surroundings. Do a good turn for somebody instead of being so negative.
