A 57-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink and drugs after a collision this morning.
Police were called to the A27 Warren Road shortly after 8am.
A silver Peugeot struck a traffic island, turned onto its side, and collided with a silver Citroen travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Peugeot, from Worthing, suffered a minor hand injury and was taken to Worthing Hospital.
She was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
The driver of the Citroen, a 51-year-old woman from Worthing, was not injured.
Drivers experience long delays after the incident.
