Drivers were stuck in three mile long tailbacks this morning after a car flipped over onto its roof.
The incident happened on the A27 at the A24 roundabout in Worthing at around 8am this morning.
A car driven by a 57-year-old woman hit an electric sign and flipped over, damaging another car.
The woman received hand injuries and was taken into hospital, but was released and arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence.
The driver of the other car involved was not hurt.
Police closed the carriageway until 10am this morning, causing long tailbacks all the way to Lancing, but the road has just been reopened.
However a police spokesman warned the lane would be closed again this lunchtime while engineers work to repair the broken sign.
