A nurse is being investigated amid allegations she ignored a patient after he suffered a cardiac arrest and subsequently died.
Janet Groom is accused of failing to react following the incident at Bognor War Memorial Hospital on November 5, 2012.
A Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) panel suspended her for 18 months while the matter was further investigated.
The NMC hearing said: “The panel was told a referral |was received by the NMC on from the Bognor War Memorial Hospital.
“Mrs Groom is alleged to have failed to initiate basic life support or summon emergency assistance when a patient suffered a cardiac arrest at around 1am on the Don Baines ward.
The patient is said to have died approximately two hours later.
“It is alleged Mrs Groom had not attended the annual mandatory and statutory training or yearly basic life support course.”
