Some weeks ago (July 4), The Argus printed a well-thought-out article on Brighton’s homelessness, which pointed out the high cost of funding several charities compared with the size of the homeless population being served.
I thought this would invite a response from the senior figures of those charities paying sums in the region of £70,000 a year to some members of staff but I haven’t seen or heard anything.
These managers and departments have a duty to inform those paying the bills (us). Failing that, explanations should be coming from the council as to how this £70,000 figure came about. Or doesn’t it know?
Mr J Meadows, Preston Drove, Brighton
