Am I the only resident who agrees that the 20mph speed limit on minor roads and estates is a civilised approach to road safety, especially where children are concerned?
As for the Lewes Road bus and cycle lanes in Brighton, in theory these should work (especially as we are a two-university city) to encourage students to use public transport or cycle.
The complaint I have is that the scheme has taken all summer to bring together, seemingly built in bits and pieces.
The proof will be when it is fully up and working and the students are back.

Why don’t the Greens consider introducing a man or woman walking in front of all vehicles waving a red flag?
This would greatly reduce speed and help unemployment figures at a stroke. They could be issued with rollerskates for greater speed on motorways.
