Once again the residents of Moulsecoomb have been the victims of Brighton and Hove City Council’s apathy (The Argus, August 30).
Whoever gave the order to open the Wild Park gates for travellers should now have the cost of the clean-up deducted from their salary.
As for Inspector Whitehead saying there is plenty of room in the park, he should go to the park out of uniform with his family while the travellers are there.

This is typical of the Greens’ softly-softy approach to travellers. They are happy to waste money on anything other than what residents want.
Whoever gave the order to open the gate should be sacked or a councillor should pay the court costs.
People don’t pay council tax to see it wasted in this way.
Anthony Price, Freshfield Road, Brighton
With all the other wonderful schemes the Green council has thought up, I am surprised it has not occurred to them to introduce a dedicated lane for travellers in order that they can access our parks and recreation areas more speedily.
Barry Brook, Old London Road, Patcham
