A woman in her 70s has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in his 70s.

The man died in the early hours of this morning in Seven Sisters Country Park, near Seaford.

It is believed they were known to each other.

Detective Sergeant Dave Tye said: "We believe that the man and woman are known to each other and we do not believe that there was anyone else involved in this incident.

"To help us with our investigations we have closed a section of the Seven Sisters Country Park, along with the car park at Exceat. I'd like to thank users of the park for their patience and understanding at this time."

The car park at Exceat has been closed, along with the park to the east side of the old river meanders.

The car park at Litlington remains open, along with the park's visitor centre.
