Here's a film star you might not have “herd” about but is bound to be a big hit.

Ida the dairy cow was one of those owned by Hailsham farmer Steve Hook featured in indie documentary The Moo Man.

The unruly milkers and their maverick farmer are returning for a gala screening at the first Firle On Film event on Saturday, September 14.

The film follows the story of a small family farm after it decides to abandon the big dairies and go it alone.

Money raised will go to the Firle Playing Fields and Village Hall Association and Lewes-based charity Living Well and Dying Well.

Tickets, priced £30 to include entertainment and dinner, are available from www.wegottickets.com, Firle Stores, Union Music in Lewes, and Lewes Tourist Information Centre.

The event starts at 5.30pm on September 14 with a celebrity, red carpet appearance by one of the stars of the film from Longleys Farm, Hailsham, at 6pm.

A question and answer session with Andy, Heike and Steve will follow the showing.
