A 91-year-old man was accidentally locked in public toilets last night.
The elderly gentleman was using the toilets in West Street, Shoreham, when cleaners locked up without checking the cubicles.
Luckily the man had a mobile phone and was able to call the fire service himself, at around 9pm.
A source at Shoreham fie station said: "The toilets obviously weren't checked before they were locked up.
"The poor old guy was doing his business and the cleaners didn't even shout out.
"He was fine - he had a mobile phone so could call us direct.
"Otherwise he would have been in for a lonely night."
