A man was airlifted to hospital with serious head injuries following a crash which caused the closure of a major road.
The driver of a white Transit van, a 57-year old man from Havant, was taken by air ambulance to London’s Kings College Hospital following a crash on the southbound carriage of the A24 Southwater By-Pass.
A passenger, a 55-year old Chichester man, was treated at the scene for minor injuries while a 30-year old Worthing man driving a white Mercedes Sprinter was taken to Worthing with serious but not life threatening injuries.
The southbound carriageway was closed from the time of the accident just after 10pm yesterday until the afternoon.
