Friends of a woman fighting for her life after being hit by a speedboat off a Greek island held a charity gig to help her return to the UK.
Holly-Ann Schofield, originally from Hove, moved to Rhodes 18 months ago and was seriously injured while swimming in the sea earlier this month.
She’s recently woken up from a medically-induced coma in Athens, but her family fear it could cost more than £30,000 to fly her home to the UK.
To raise funds for the effort, around 100 people gathered at The Brunswick pub in Holland Road, Hove, on Wednesday night for a fundraising music gig.
More than £5,000 has so far been raised for Holly’s fund.
Paul Johnson, one of the organisers, said: “It was a great night and it raised important cash for Holly’s fund. Thanks to all that came. We hope to get Holly home soon.”
