I would like to thank Brighton Big Screen Limited for the best attraction that has come to Brighton for many a year.

All through the month of August we have been able to watch films such as Life Of Pi, Moulin Rouge, Les Miserables, Grease, Brighton Rock and Quadrophenia on the beach near the Big Wheel.

The beach area, which was free, was packed every night (of course the wonderful summer weather probably helped).

I do hope it will happen again next year. I think the residents of this city owe Bill Murray of the Brighton Big Screen a huge vote of thanks.

My husband and I had looked forward to the All Or Nothing musical at Brighton’s Big Screen since it was advertised.

We turned up among a throng of Mods and Rockers, keen to be the first to see a tribute to a fabulous band.

We bought our VIP tickets and queued with the masses to get our grandstand seats. Then Danny Dyer came on stage and... nothing. We could not hear a word, all we could hear was the crash of the waves and the crunch of pebbles as people came to sit in the VIP stand. Not a thing was heard from stage.

After half an hour and several people shouting “turn it up”, we asked to speak to management. We were told the show producer had used their own sound system which was only present on stage. That, coupled with the fact that Danny Dyer was reading from a script, was enough for us.

So bitterly disappointed, we talked to a couple who had driven down from the North and booked a hotel at £180 just for the show. That was just one couple – after speaking to many we gave up and left.

Why was a front-of-house sound check not done? I am guessing many disgruntled people left unsatisfied. On the whole, a total wash-out. Premier? I can’t see how, as no one heard it!
