Adam Trimingham’s comment on the fossil fuel debate (August 21) reminded me of being inside the back end of a rattling, fume-filled, old London bus a while back.
A woman looked into my eyes saying, “I know what you’re thinking”.
“Do you?” I replied, adding, “What do you know about hydrogen-engined buses?”
She retorted, “They must be dangerous, powered by a hydrogen bomb?”
If I were mayor of London, I would immediately order hydrogen Underground trains before the inevitable national power cuts bring London to a standstill.
If I were the leader of Brighton and Hove City Council, I would have a power cable from France to Brighton and Hove. There is already a French powerline to Dungeness in Kent. I wonder why?
