A young artist who recently completed her A-levels has already earned herself her own art exhibition.
Georgia Hamp currently has a selection of her work exhibited in a gallery at The Capitol Horsham New Exhibition β a rarity for someone so young.
The 18-year-old has only just left Falington School in Broadbridge Heath and is now planning on going to university in September to study architecture.
Georgia has always been passionate about art and has in recent years focused on developing a strong and expressive style with her work.
She said: βFor me, it is not necessarily the subject that is most important, it is the creation of an aesthetic harmony with layers of textural and colourful elements discovered through experimentation.β
In her work, Georgia combines a variety of media and textures and displays a breadth of subjects including structural and abstracted city spaces, as well as refined and intimate portraits.
In a large number of her most recent pieces of work, Georgia has played between abstraction and realism.
She has also explored creating particularly fascinating pieces guided by nature.
Through her work, the young Picasso aims to convey to the viewer the beauty of emotive marks and colour contrasts.
In her exhibition, the talented youngster will be exhibiting a wide variety of works including subjects which range from both natural and urban landscapes, portraiture and complete abstraction.
The exhibition will remain open to members of the public until September 2. For more details visit www.thecapitolhorsham.com.
