There was no monkeying around for these zoo staff, who were working towards winter despite it still being August.
The staff at Drusillas Park, near Alfriston, were stocking up the freezers with boxes of leaves for the zoo’s five black and white colobus monkeys to eat during the colder months.
Although there is a large supply of the willow, hazel, birch and hawthorn leaves they mainly eat, the team need to plan ahead to ensure that there are lots of leaves available later in the year.
