Douglas Brown (The Argus, August 22) has given me hope.
Everything he says in his Soapbox article is totally correct.
Unfortunately, he does not go far enough. He does not mention the increase in pollution that the Greens are conveniently overlooking. Without going into too much detail, my fuel consumption is up by 12.5% and it takes 30% longer to get to where Iām going. How is that green?
We are told it is mainly a safety scheme. Why do motorists have to suffer for children being hurt because they were playing in the road? Where are the parents?
Then we come to the cyclists. Put in cycle lanes for them ā do they use them? No. They still prefer to go up the middle of the road and make rude gestures when you ask them to use their own lanes.
The council is not on this planet.
