Regarding the alleged “growing unrest” in Glynde village (The Argus, August 10), I should point out that our club definitely had no disagreements with Glynde Estates or manager Nick Jones.
Our relationship with Glynde Estates has always been most cordial, with its attitude to our club supportive.
The reference to the loss of access for our members is just not true; there are no gates locked to us on the sections of river in which we choose to fish.
There is a new fence in one area which means we can no longer walk down the river on top of the bank.
However, Mr Jones kindly negotiated an alternative assembly point with ample parking, which is very satisfactory.
David Todd, chairman, Glynde, Beddingham and Firle Angling Club
