In the continuing story of the good people of Newhaven versus Newhaven Port and Properties, it seems that the ordinary people who live in the town are again taking matters into their own hands by trying to reclaim the West Beach.
After a successful protest picnic last Saturday, there will be a Bank Holiday Monday game of rounders on this beach at 6pm. Weather is forecast to be sunny and clear so this Monday (August 26) should see another successful protest.
Last Saturday saw some 200 people, old and young, scale the fence. Even the mayor of the town clambered over the barbed barricade.
Why not bring along your cameras and film the game? It won’t be the only match the people of Newhaven intend to win.
