Everyone in Sussex is aware of the drilling at Balcombe for gas and oil. There’s no real problem with actually drilling a hole in the ground.
But what actually is the chemical, and in what quantity is it used in the fracking process, if it reaches this stage?
I have not seen any television or newspaper name the chemical – using the word “chemical” is a generalisation and not informative enough.
This “chemical” must have a name or product code, a manufacturer and details as to its uses and hazards.
If you had a glass of water put in front of you and someone added this chemical, would you drink it?
Perhaps someone can find an industrial chemist to explain further what this chemical is. As soon as you add something to water, it is no longer water.
