An actor is making a song and dance about a children’s charity.
Chestnut Tree House Patron, Ben Richards, took time out of his busy schedule performing in the hit musical 9-5 at the Theatre Royal in New Road, Brighton, to lend his support to this year’s Snowman Spectacular Ball.
The annual event raises funds for the children’s hospice in Poling. It will take place this year on December 7 at Hilton Brighton Metropole in Kings Road.
The Sussex-born actor has been a patron for several years and hosted the first Snowman Spectacular Ball in 2008.
He has visited the hospice several times so has seen for himself the specialist care Chestnut Tree House provides for children with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses and their families.
Once he has finished his tour of 9-5, Mr Richards is turning his attention to organising a charity event for Chestnut Tree House – an evening with Ben Richards on October 26 at the Regis Centre in Bognor.
Janet Parsons, head of communications for Chestnut Tree House, said: “Ben is a fantastic ambassador for Chestnut Tree House, helping us to raise awareness of the vital care we provide to local sick children across East and West Sussex.
"It is great to have his support for this year’s Ball, especially as we are also celebrating our tenth birthday so it will be like a Christmas and birthday party rolled into one”
