A 22-year-old Brighton man has denied a string of sexual assaults and attempted sexual assaults.

Jude Krishnan, of Montpelier Crescent, is charged with five counts of sexual assault and two counts of attempted sexual assault.

He will appear before Lewes Crown Court on September 13.

Krishnan was also fined after pleading guilty to two counts of cannabis possession, at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, August 15.

The sex assault charges relate to a number of street groping attacks in Brighton.

At about 12.25am on Saturday, February 2, a 26-year-old woman was grabbed from behind and groped over her clothes in Roundhill Crescent, Brighton.

At 4.20am another 26-year-old woman was subjected to a similar assault at the junction of North Road and Gloucester Place.

Krishnan was arrested and also questioned in relation to four other similar assaults.

These took place on Upper Hollingdean Road and The Level early on Sunday, November 18, in Hollingdean Road on December 8, in Union Road, Brighton, on January 3 and in Lewes Road on Thursday, January 17.
