A group of protestors who set up camp in a Christmas tree site are currently being evicted.
Sussex Police confirmed today it was using powers under Section 61 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 to remove people from a small camp at a Christmas tree plantation north of the Cuadrilla site in Balcombe.
A spokesman said: "This is not the main Reclaim the Power camp - where the large majority of people have already left of their own accord - nor the roadside camp that has been in place since the start of the demonstration.
"These powers have been proportionately used to remove a small number of people from this separate camp, due to specific criminality emanating from it.
"This is the camp where fireworks and drugs were seized yesterday and where the landowner reported being threatened when asking the campers to leave voluntarily."
