A man is reported to have been raped on Brighton beach in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday August 21).

It's understood two men, who met earlier on in the evening in Brighton, went for a walk along the beach at about 3am between the Coalition nightclub and the sea.

A rape is then reported to have taken place.

Police have arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of rape. He remains in custody this morning.
