A number of constituents have raised with me concerns about cold callers persistently bothering them at home. Further to this I made some enquiries and learnt that Sussex Police recently designated the town of Seaford as a “No Cold Calling Zone”. This designation means that if someone calls without an appointment to offer items for sale, offering to carry out work or any other service, they are potentially committing an offence under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.I understand that since the scheme has been introduced residents of Seaford have experienced a reduction in the number of cold callers.
I would be keen to hear if this is something residents of Bevendean would like me to pursue for the area.

I hold regular constituency advice surgeries, including one at St Andrews Church in Moulsecoomb and I am always keen to meet with local residents.
Best wishes, Simon Kirby, Member of Parliament for Bevendean.
