What was I doing here? I was already late home, my mum would kill me if I came in at this time. I didn't have time to worry in the situation I was in.
I was crouched behind some bins and all I could smell was rotten food, but I ignored it. The two men dressed in black had been waiting for a large truck or bus to go by so they could smash the window.
I had to do something before they disappeared into the shop.
I got out my video camera and started to film. I did this because these were likely to be the pair of thieves that had broken into five shops in this area in one week. The truck approached, but there were footsteps coming around the side of the shop. They ignored this, but as it turned into a sprint they quickly sprinted behind a lamp post about 10 metres from me.
They would hear any sound I made. I was still filming and this evidence for the police would be brilliant. This would help me to become a criminal journalist.
Suddenly I heard a beep. My camera was flashing ‘low battery’. I looked over to the two men, hoping they hadn't heard it. They had heard and were now approaching my direction...
