A record of a different kind was broken in the spring sunshine over the weekend – as 300-plus Kate Bush lookalikes re-enacted her famous Wuthering Heights video in a city park.
The bizarre sight of hundreds of men and women in red dresses, long black wigs and bright lipstick took many visitors to Stanmer Park on Saturday by surprise.
The Fringe event, organised by performance group Shambush, saw fans of the 80s icon spend the sunny afternoon practicing the dance moves before breaking the record.
Temperatures topped 16C on the day with the mercury creeping up towards 20C yesterday.
The sunshine saw the usual scenes across Sussex with beaches packed and the roads noticeably busier with families making the most of the bank holiday.
Today looks like another fine day although temperatures will be a little cooler around 15C.
