A woman has been arrested on suspicion of stealing from a charity shop.

A woman was seen acting suspiciously in the Cancer Research UK Shop in Broad Street, Seaford, on Tuesday.

Seaford Sergeant Stuart Mullins said: "I want to assure the public that we take all offences of theft seriously.

“Stealing from a charity has serious consequences, not only does the charity lose out but it is an attack on those that freely donate goods and the volunteers who give up their time to help.”

A 42-year-old from Ringmer has been arrested on suspicion of theft and bailed until July 9.
