So Mike Weatherley MP wants to extend his law on squatting to include commercial properties.
Why is he wasting the valuable time of our Prime Minister David Cameron?
Surely, this clause should have been included in the original Green and White Papers of the law when it passed through our sham of a Parliament.
This is just another example of the demonisation and persecution of the poor.
If Mr Weatherley visits his constituency at night, he will find people living in tents and sleeping under the cattle arch between Vale Road and Victoria Road as well as in other public places.
Yet at the eastern end of Vale Road, there is a disused office block.
This is, in my opinion, absurd and obscene – this property is perfect for conversion into affordable housing.
Perhaps our council should invest some of the £15 million it has borrowed to build an unwanted tower in this project.
After all, isn’t it the responsibility of all of us to look after the poorest people in society?
Of course, this will never happen as there is no profit in people.
As for Mr Weatherley’s opinions on the EU, I couldn’t disagree more. If the EU hadn’t banned the use of neonicotinoids in pesticides in order to safeguard pollinating insects such as bees and butterflies, this poison would be in use globally to the detriment of the whole planet’s eco-system.
Finally, it is worth noting that the much-maligned European Court of Human Rights only reinforces rights we already have under common law in this country.
Please fight back people – if you don’t act now then what you have coming to you will be deserved.
