Now that our “knight in shining armour”, dear Mike Dalley, has passed away (March 1, 2013), will anyone continue to champion St James’s Street in Brighton?
I shudder to think what visitors to our city make of this street as it is now.
Outside the Morrisons supermarket in this street, the begging has become intolerable. Why can’t someone put up a sign?
Does Morrisons not care that its customers are feeling intimidated?
I stand at the bus stop nearby and those such as myself who wait up to 40 minutes for a 37B have to watch beggars with dogs, their “mates” with cans of beer and a motley selection of men totally off their head strumming guitars.
Have the police forgotten, yet again, to make regular swoops?
Community officers pass by sometimes but seem to chat among themselves.
