Huge cracks have been discovered in the walls of a Sussex church dating back to the 12th century.
The St Thomas a Becket church in Cliffe, Lewes was scheduled to be restored after cracks started appearing a year ago.
But after starting the work specialists have discovered the problem is worst than originally thought and could cost thousands more to repair.
The church has launched a fundraising appeal to meet the costs - which will be at least £20,000.
Contributions to the restoration can be made to the treasurer, c/o 1 The Moorings, South Street BN7 2BW. Telephone 01273 475053.
